About Jaeger-LeCoultre and this Privacy Policy

Jaeger-LeCoultre, branch of Richemont International SA, has its registered offices at Rue de la Golisse 8, CH-1347 Le Sentier, Switzerland.  In this Privacy Policy, we use the term Jaeger-LeCoultre (and "we", "us" and "our") to refer to the head office of Jaeger-LeCoultre at the registered address above, its affiliates and our boutiques.  

Please take a moment to read the following policy which explains how we collect, use, disclose and transfer the personal information that you provide to us on our B2B extranet website for our retailers/independent repairers (“JLSafe”). It also explains how we collect information through the use of cookies and related technologies when you use JLSafes.

From time to time we may update this Privacy Policy.  When we do we will publish the changes on JLSafe.

Information you provide to us and how we use it

To access certain areas of JLSafe, you will need to register with us.  During the registration process you will be asked to submit personal information about yourself (including your name and address, date of birth, e-mail address and telephone number).  By entering your details in the fields requested, you enable Jaeger-LeCoultre to provide you with the services you select.  

In addition, we may also collect personal information from you when you correspond with us or contact the Jaeger-LeCoultre concierge by telephone.  Please note that calls to the Jaeger-LeCoultre concierge may be recorded for security, training and development purposes. 

We also collect certain information automatically about visitors to JLSafe, described in the section headed "Cookies and other information that we automatically collect", below.  

We will use the information we collect from you to:

  • deal with your enquiries and requests;
  • send service related communications, including announcements and administrative messages such as order confirmation;
  • to advise you of new products and/or events in relation to Jaeger-LeCoultre and its products;
  • prevent fraud and other prohibited or illegal activities and as part of our efforts to keep JLSafe secure; and
  • understand how JLSafe is used so that we can continuously improve JLSafe and services and other offerings.

These cookies serve a variety of purposes related to the presentation, performance and functionality of JLSafe.  Their overall purpose, however, is to enhance visitors’ experience and enjoyment of JLSafe.

Analytics Cookies

These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use JLSafe.  

The information gathered does not identify any individual visitor and is aggregated.  It includes the number of visitors to JLSafe, the platforms that referred them to JLSafe and the pages that they visited on JLSafe.

IP addresses

We may collect information about your computer or mobile device, including where available your IP address, operating system, log in times and browser type.  We use this information to better understand how visitors use JLSafe and for internal reporting purposes.  We may anonymise and share this information with advertisers, sponsors or other businesses.

Sharing your information

We do not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except under the following circumstances: 

  • to third party providers who provide services on our behalf;
  • we may disclose your personal information to any law enforcement agency, court, regulator, government authority or other third party where we believe this is necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, or otherwise to protect our rights or the rights of any third party;  and
  • we may disclose your personal information to any third party that purchases, or to which we transfer, all or substantially all of our assets and business.   Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to try to ensure that the entity to which we transfer your personal information uses it in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy.

We want you to feel confident about using JLSafe, and we are committed to protecting the personal information we collect.  We limit access to personal information about you to employees who reasonably need access to it, to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs.  We have appropriate technical and organisational physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the personal information that you provide to us against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, damage or destruction.


 

How to edit, delete or access your personal information

You have the right to ask for access to any personal information that we hold about you in our records, to correct any inaccuracies and to update any out-of-date information.  If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please write to us at the address listed below.  

China Privacy Rights

This section applies solely to the personal information collected  from individuals residing in Mainland China.  This section is intended to address the relevant notice requirements of China law, and uses certain terms that have the meaning given to them under the China law.

  • Sensitive personal information: Among the information you provide to us in the sections “Information you provide to us and how we use it”, “cookies and other information that we automatically collect” and “location services” above, we will collect sensitive personal information such as your financial information (including transaction records and credit card details), facial recognition features (including photographs) and other information (including >tracking, browsing history, communication records and location)[CMH(H1]  We will not collect this information unless there is specific purpose and you expressly consent.

 

  • Cross-border transferAll of your personal information specified in the section headed “Information you provide to us and how we use it” above (including the sensitive personal information) we collect, may be, based on business needs, transferred to, stored and processed in places outside of Mainland China such as Hong Kong SAR, China, Switzerland and the European Union or in any country or region where one or more of our affiliated group companies or entrusted service providers are located or maintain facilities. For the countries and regions of our affiliated group companies located outside of Mainland China and their addresses and contact details, please visit https://www.richemont.com/en/home/about-us/global-presence/The transferred information will be retained at each transferee until the earlier of the achievement of such purpose, and the cancelation of your account. Prior to such cross-border transfers, we will (1) conduct security assessment in accordance with the legal requirements; or (2) be certified by a specialized institution in accordance with the provisions of the State Cyberspace Administration in respect of the protection of personal information; or (3) conclude written agreements with the overseas transferee specifying rights and obligations and supervise the overseas transferee’s processing of personal information to ensure that the overseas transferees’ processing meets the standards for protection of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Law and they only process the data within the authorised scope.

 

  • Minor: In commercial activities, we assume that you have the appropriate capacity for civil conduct. We understand the importance of safeguarding the personal information of minors. JLSafe is not directed at any minor who we know to be under the age of 14, nor do we collect any personal information from any minor who we know to be under the age of 14. We may collect your birthday information to verify whether you are underage. If you are under the age of 14, you should not use JLSafe and should not submit any personal information to us. In case we find that you are under the age of 14 but you submit your personal information to us, we will terminate services to you (including account cancelation) and delete such personal information as soon as possible. If you are above the age of 14 but under the age of 18, we may request that your parents or other guardians read this Privacy Policy carefully and you may only use our services or provide information to us with the consent of your parents or other guardians

 

  • Your Rights: you have the following rights under applicable laws in China:
    • Access: Unless otherwise provided in the applicable law, you have the right to request access to your personal information we collect from you or request a copy of the personal information.  We will reply to your request within 15 days.  
    • Correction: if you discovers that there is error in the personal information we collect about you, you have the right to request us to correct the error.  We will reply to your request within 15 days.
    • Deletion: You have the right to request the erasure of your personal information we collected, if our collection or use violates any applicable law or against your consent, or if you wish to cancel the registration or no longer use our JLSafe or JLSafe no longer serves you. 
    • Changes the scope of your consent: You have the right to object to us processing your personal information. However, the corresponding functions at JLSafe may accordingly turn inactive for you, and our processing prior to your revocation will remain unaffected. In particular, you can ask us to stop sending you direct marketing communications at any time (however please note that we may continue to send you service-related (i.e. non-marketing) communications, or to shut down some customized promotion information. 
    • Cancel account: Should you wish to cancel your account or otherwise unsubscribe from JLSafe, unless applicable local legislation requires a different retention period, we will delete or anonymize your information and have the overseas transferees delete or anonymize the same within a reasonable period (subject to any local law requirements) upon receipt of your request.
